Whether it’s a Musical, Western, Comedy, Romance, Film Noir, or Drama – if it’s on, I’m not too far away… with popcorn and raspberry tea in hand and a couple of cats nearby.īelow are a few Old Hollywood movie reviews I’ve done on the blog.

There’s nothing quite like watching a movie from the Golden Age of Hollywood. It’s a pastime I highly, highly recommend. The wonderful Laurel & Hardy – The Collection would make a great addition to any collection.Īmazon is the ideal place to find dvd collections (or individual dvds, of course) of anyone and everyone who makes you smile. What could be better than having an hour or two of escapism filled with smiles and side-splitting laughter? It shouldn’t surprise you in the least that (given the clown that I am) I collect dvds, movies, and other memorabilia for each of the stars mentioned above. I guess that’s why many of my favorite movies, actors, and actresses ( Lucille Ball, anyone?) are those that trigger my favorite sport – laughter. Laughing… loud, often, and unapologetically! These comedic teams are ALL about one of the things I’m, personally, ALL about as well. If you saw the particular movie during a particularly cherished time in your life, you’ll always cherish the movie. Sometimes it all comes down to nostalgia, I think. Who knows?! Isn’t that the way it is with most Laurel and Hardy, The Three Stooges, Martin and Lewis, or Abbott and Costello movies? Some you simply love more than others. I recently re-watched (I’d hate to wager how many times I’ve actually seen this particular film) a favorite Laurel and Hardy movie, The Flying Deuces (1939).
